How to use it
- 1Add your images.
- 2Choose the output format.
- 3Optimize, then download files individually or as a ZIP.
Which format should I use?
WebP is supported by all modern browsers and is typically much smaller than JPG or PNG. AVIF can be smaller still but takes longer to encode, and only some browsers can create AVIF files. JPG is the safest choice for photos that must open everywhere; PNG is best when you need lossless quality or transparency in older software.
Browser support for AVIF
Pixnex checks whether your browser can actually encode each format. If AVIF is unavailable, the option is disabled rather than silently producing a different file type. Chromium-based browsers (Chrome, Edge, Opera) currently offer the widest support.
Frequently asked questions
Are my images uploaded?
No. This tool decodes and re-encodes your images inside your browser tab using built-in browser features. The files never leave your device unless you choose to share the downloaded results.
Will converting to JPG keep transparency?
No — JPG has no alpha channel. Transparent areas are filled with white, and Pixnex warns you when this happens.
Can I convert HEIC photos?
Not yet. Most browsers can't decode HEIC, so Pixnex shows an error instead of producing a broken file. Export to JPG on your device first.
